October was such a great month – Halloween was so much fun and Grandpa taking us to the fair was awesome! But we did a lot of other great stuff, too. Make sure to check out my artwork for photos of the snail I made at Nature Nuts and the pumpkin book I made at the Arboretum.
We learned a lot about snails during my first Nature Nuts at Hemlock Bluffs. Hurricane Matthew started pouring rain while we were there, and Swift Creek got really big and fast!
We had a snail race inside.
They were pretty slow…
The next day we walked on the Swift Creek Greenway. We tried to clean up some of the mess from Hurricane Matthew – but those fallen trees are heavy!
My friend Clara and I went to Jack Smith Park.
We had a great time playing in this “nest.”
And I met my friend Maddie at the arboretum for some pumpkin activities. This mirror tree is one of my favorite parts of the garden!
We made some cool designs by pressing pegs into pumpkins and looping rubber bands around them.
We measured pumpkins and ourselves! I weighed more than this pumpkin, but it is bigger around than I am!
We also put some pumpkin stories in order – making a jack-o-lantern…
… and how a pumpkin grows from a seed,
We raked leaves into a great big pile.
We walked over the highway!
I had crazy hair day at school!
Speaking of crazy hair – check out this bathtub mohawk!
The whole family when to the Chatham Street Chowdown. There were lots of activities for kids.
And some delicious Mr. A’s Beignets!
And of course, a great view of some construction!
I took a little break from soccer to learn some baseball & basketball this month.
And we went camping at Bond Park! (Well, Daddy & I did, Mommy took baby Kellan home!)
And here are some wonderful photos of my baby brother Kellan, who turned 2 months old!
